Special Events
The Society holds several forays throughout the year and anyone interested in mushrooms is encouraged to attend. The purpose of the forays is different for everyone. Some people like to simply find and photograph mushrooms. Some are looking for edible mushrooms to take home to the table. Other people just like to enjoy the company of like minded mushroom loving folks. On these forays you can expect to meet amateur and professional mycologists.
If you plan on attending a foray, you may consider bringing the following:
- A way to take pictures (Cell phone, camera, etc.)
- Mushroom Field Guide
- Hand lens
- Whistle
- Map of the area
- Lunch/snack
- Waterproof clothing
- First Aid Kit
