About Michigan Mushroom Hunters Club (MMHC)
The Michigan Mushroom Hunters Club is a mushroom enthusiast organization made up of professional and amateur mycologists. This active group gets together to enjoy identifying and collecting mushrooms, as well as the company of fellow mushroom loving people. Most of the Forays take place in southeast Michigan, but the club has members in all parts of Michigan.
Forays take place on public and private grounds. They generally take place between late April and mid November. You can attend your first mushroom event for free to see if becoming a member is something you are interested in.
Becoming a member
The annual cost of a household membership is $15 if you would like an emailed newsletter and $25 if you would like it printed. Membership in the MMHC provides you with:
- Quarterly newsletter (Example Newsletter)
- Access to the clubs yearly event schedule
- Discount to on NAMA membership dues
- Access to an extensive mushroom knowledge base

Special Events
The MMHC is just as passionate about socializing with fellow mushroom enthusiasts as they are about educating them. Some of activities you can expect to see from them are:

- Frequent forays
- Annual banquet and fungus festival
- Social gatherings
Their website also has a section for kids called, “Kids Corner” to help get your kids excited about fungus and mushrooms.

The MMHC has public events posted on their website and Facebook page. Another great option is to become a member and receive their quarterly newsletter with the clubs private members-only events.
