About Maine Cap N Stem

Maine Cap N Stem was founded in 2014.   When they first opened their doors, they sold fresh mushrooms.  However, during 2015 and 2016 they saw an dramatic increase in demand for mushrooms across the country and decided to switch their focus.  Their primary focus now is supplying mushroom farmers with growing supplies such as grain spawn and cultures.  You can buy spawn from them by the single bag or by the pallet.  (A species list as of 09-22 is below.)  You can also by substrate from them by the ton. No order is too big or too small for these guys.

Something unique that they offer is their Fenrir bagging system.  For $1300 you get the motorized auger trough, computerized box and brain and the scale/loadcell with bag wings.  You’ll need to build a hopper to connect the system to and of course supply the hoses for water, but this commercial grade system looks incredibly efficient.

MycoWizards Podcast

Maine Cap N Stem is also home to the infamous MycWizards podcast.  In each bi-weekly episode, they talk to mushroom growers from around the world about their commercial mushroom growing operations.  Episodes range in length from one to four hours.  We love their causal laid back style.  You can check them out HERE or on your favorite podcast platform.
